The Journey

Handmade Sweater from the Happy Drop, 2022

Creating a full-time job—or career rather, has been a road of hard work and challenges. I never thought any of this was possible!

I grew up learning that thrifting was for the “Less Fortunate.” I resented it. I was embarrassed other kids would know we bought used clothes.

After many years, and much needed growth, thrifting became a hobby, and vintage fashion became an obsession. I felt compelled to save all my favorite finds, regardless of how much I already had.

I started my Reseller Journey on Etsy. It was a side hobby for me to sell tie-dye tapestries, thrifted fashion, and art.

Many part-time jobs, and money struggles later…

I eventually found the thrifting communities on Instagram! I loved it more than anything. I knew I needed to start a shop, and “sprinkle” my own personality into it! (Unlike most other selling platforms). I was able to grow, and build friendships unlike any other platform!

Less than a year later, I took the plunge, and turned a “side gig” into my fully fledged, and ONLY income!

I have learned countless amounts about fashion, vintage, the environment, etc. It has helped shape RISK into a place of inclusivity, sustainability, and self-expression!

It was and continues to be a scary and exciting time in my life. I couldn’t do it without all of YOU! I am so appreciative of the constant support that people like you give! Shopping small is more than spending money.

Shopping small means supporting a human being. It means a young girl’s dream of owning a business comes true. It means the difference between a job, and a life worth living.

So thank you. THANK YOU x100000!
